That's kind of how it was with me too. Pop culture doesn't have a large
part in my eventual rejection of religion or any real involvement or
relation to it beyond a few flecks of color on the thoughts of my
younger self here and there.

Not a whole lot on this end. I went back and listened to the first Fuck Buttons album for the first time in a good while (every time I go back to it, I end up smacking myself for letting myself forget how good it is), watched the Kubrick version of The Shining. Nothing too far off the radar.

Sorry, but that's an undue insult to The Room on two levels. For all its faults, perceived and/or otherwise (and in some cases because of them), The Room is one of the most relentlessly entertaining American films of the last 20 years and the songs in the movie are fucking golden.
