Well just as long as your expectations are reasonable.

Cole was so great in that scene at Southside High. We know and love him as the miserable snarky outsider, but seeing him relaxed for the first time all series at the lunch table almost put what Archie/Betty/Veronica were trying to do in a negative light, which was an interesting place to take it.

Counterpoint: I binge-watched the first half of the season during the winter hiatus, and while it's certainly fun to discuss and digest the episodes over the course of the week, a soapy, campy show like this benefits from binging because it smooths out some of the rough edges. Minor flaws that are glaring on a

And Valerie just looked annoyed.

I would take Rick Cosnett because wow Flash did not deserve him.

So we're obviously on a timeline until the inevitable romantic roulette, but I sincerely hope the entirety of Archie and Veronica's relationship is her using multi-syllable words and then having to define them for him.

I sincerely hope this sketch only gets reused in the future with superhero Chrises playing that character and no one ever comments on it.

I appreciated the commitment to only costuming Chris Pine in shirts missing their top button.

So great. Also Betty was the only one to not gasp and cover her mouth at the murder, proving once and for all that she is the toughest motherfucker on the show.

If it means a gay character gets written off without getting fridged I'm fine with that.

I like how she's still batshit insane but they've moved away from "jailing pregnant daughter" evil to just manageably evil.

So then should we assume that Archie's mom genuinely wanting to hear him sing probably has ulterior motives also?

True but he probably won't start a nuclear war with Australia.

It was weird how little fun Fallon seemed to be having the whole night. He got through the sketches all right, but it seemed like he was just grimacing his way through "Just Dance" and he just seemed exhausted the whole time. Fallon usually rubs me the wrong way with his kind of smarmy everyone-loves-me broishness,

That's true, if he were any bit aware of anything none of this would work. The show needs an attractive dope to build around.

Really? Because it's not like being alive Archie is contributing a whole lot to the show…

So, uh, anyone else notice how this week's Riverdale was basically the plot of High School Musical 2…?

He is giving me a weird thing for dark haired gingers though.

Plus her casual boob window top for a lunch with her daughter's friends.
