You're right, and not only do suicides get ignored, they're actively discarded. Produce a statistic on gun deaths and inevitably someone pipes up with, "Yeah, but X % of those are suicides." As if those don't fucking count. A suicide attempt with a gun has a much, much higher chance of actual resulting in death…
