I have some nice costumes for the Chicago TARDIS Doctor Who convention. However, one of them is a UNIT squaddie, which is basically a tactical uniform with UNIT logos. I am having second thoughts about taking it as that means wandering around the lobby and to and from the auditorium dressed like that. Thoughts?

Heaven forbid that an EMT team might want to see if anyone was hurt when a car crashes in front of them. Damn unions and their lunch break rules!!!

I appreciate the major-characters factor - I once heard an interview with the creative team on House, where they pointed out that it was patently ridiculous that the same small team of people was doing EVERY procedure and diagnostic test, but people weren't watching the show for some random interventional cardiologist

Since this be the last POI for some time - let me mention something that bugs me slightly. Finch is super-rich, and in the pilot was being driven around town in a limo, and had a few flunkies. Now, however, he is busy doing things that he might not be best suited for - like breaking into places from which he might

Um.. she is a murderous sociopath, as far as I remember…
(ETA: Of course, so is Shaw, but at least she only kills bad guys. Root has killed innocents, or relative innocents, right? Also, I would probably allow Amy Acker and/or Sarah Shahi to shoot me in the face, anyway. Just saying.)

Amanda Tapping will be 48 this year.. or 49.
She's looking good.

I could have sworn I heard Sly's Scottish burr in there, but maybe that's just wishful hearing on my part…

Don't make me choose between them!

I can't disagree with any of those choices. Though Turn Left makes much more sense if you've been seeing the show consistently (you can make do without, as the idea comes across pretty clearly, but it's just not as satisfying).. the others you can watch with a pretty cursory knowledge of Who, I think..

Sooooo… the armour is an armoured environment suit? Keeping the Ice Warrior chilled, surely? So how come he can skitter about without it? Might have made more sense if they had shown the sub as getting very cold.. crewmen wrapping up or something.
That said, I'm just being churlish about an episode with an marvelously

Seconded.

WINTER IS COMING!!!

Well, they also had the Doctor completely wrong-footed about the Ice Warriors in 'Curse of Peladon'.. something that did not happen very often (still doesn't..).

I'm only hesitant because I'm sure other opportunities will come up.. but the whole Time Lord return rang false. For one thing, it certainly always seemed that the TL were DESTROYED, not time-locked or whatever. And every time the Doctor mentioned them, he was always wistful and regretful. He wasn't all  'Well,

True, but we can still object.. after all, the Amy-Pond-opening-narration was eventually jettisoned, so there can be hope!!

Not always immediately.. if you'll remember, he only gave Martha a key after the crewer on the ship showed an interest in her (dick move, Time-bro!). I only said it cos you don't see her put the key in to open it, we just see her tugging on the door. Though I am known for occasional lapses of concentration, especially

Note to production team: We have enough of an attention span that we don't need a flashback to something that happened earlier in that very episode - we actually do remember the leaf hitting Papa Oswin in the face.

Why exactly does she say that the TARDIS doesn't like her, anyway? Because it didn't open for her? Despite the fact that SHE DIDN'T UNLOCK IT????

And let's all ignore the fact that just two episodes ago, the Doctor had decided that he was ALWAYS going to walk away, eh..? :)

What was slightly perturbing about the Donna resolution in Journeys End was that.. well, she would be the only person in the world (again) who was totally ignorant about the death and destruction that had been wrought by alien invaders. And after a while, that sort of fixed, firm belief (or disbelief) gets termed
