I always find it annoying when flashbacks seem to be happening in real-time. It's funny when it gets played for laughs in Scrubs, but over here if Katn.. e, Charlie is gonna zone out if she sees something that reminds her of the Day Of The Blackout and people can sneak up on her, that's just not good survival skillz.

I think the 'fascist' reference was only regarding UNIT in NuWho (unless we're taking Inferno, amirite, ha ha!). Five rounds rapid was, however, pretty much always the right solution in the old days, though as pointed out, rarely effective. Case in point, the Axons, where the Doctor is offended by the military…
