Fucking Christ, if you're reviewing all three episodes at once (a huge departure for AV Club), then say so. Thank God I had the sense to stop reading.

You wouldn't defend your grandmother from a mugger.

Oh yes, gotta love those "trolls". I'm of the opinion that there's no such thing as a troll. If you're an asshole on the internet for "fun" but don't really "mean it" you're still an asshole.

No.That's not what I was saying.  People who post "interesting studies" such as that one are doing it to justify spoiling things. That was the OP's reason for posting it. It wasn't "hey, look at this interesting study". It was "you think you don't like being spoiled? Well, guess what? This study says you do". It's

Wait, the smug asshole lecturing people on needing spoilers because they're stupid and not "adult' enough is accusing other people of name calling? I mean, I guess I'm not surprised. Smug pretentious absurdly shitty assholes are also often hypocrites.

Anus…tard?
They're really being honest about not watching the whole thing, aren't they?  This is fun.

Really missing the point, aren't you? My point was not that I have to agree with everything anyone posts, it's that "studies" such as these are wholly irrelevant and dumb. Everyone's personal experience is their own and no study is going to convince someone of something they know not to be true for them.

My god, you're an insufferable asshole.

Prior to the episode, the only dead Stark was Ned. The series opened with the five Stark kids discovering their direwolves. I figured all five kids were in it for the long haul. That's clearly what we were meant to think.

Robb Stark and Catelyn were never at any point the lead characters in this story.

Yeah, it was a bullshit move straight out of a soap opera. At least they didn't cut to a new scene before Daario showed up.

It blows me away to think there were people watching this whole time who were only rooting for Robb and Catelyn.

I'm with you. As a non-book reader, I found Robb and Catelyn's deaths very shocking and grisly, but hardly a huge loss for me the viewer. They were barely a part of the story and never did much interesting, anyway.

So up until last week, the only characters you identified with were Robb and his mom? Yikes. Yeah, I wouldn't watch next year either.

I was completely unspoiled but I still had a knot in my stomach because we were spending WAY too much time with boring old Robb and company and watching a wedding seemingly in real time with extremely minor, irrelevant characters. Clearly something was up.

No, that would not have been better. Maybe that's what works for you, it would've completely ruined the drama for me. Imagine what it must of been like for the people in the 50's watching Psycho and not knowing the main character was about to get killed in the shower. That must've been so shocking. Or watching Empire

Well then that's on you, no?

Every review for every episode of every TV show on AV Club spoils the episode in question.  "Spoiler Alert" is unnecessary and stupid.

No it didn't. The episode had already aired. Every AV Club recap discusses the episode in question. Only a giant fucking idiot would click on the link without having seen the episode.

Oh please, provide more links that tell me how I personally feel about something!
