In season 1, that was just rough sex. Sure, he was trying to fuck away his anxiousness, but Skyler was fine with it until the got a little too wild and then she stopped him. That was fine. What happened this season was definitely not.

Well, since you thought Hank was going to double back in (as did a lot of us) there was the tension. But you're mostly right. The scene was there to advance the plot. Not sure why that's a problem.
