Mehopes.
Ep. 9: Fathers and Sins
Bohannon and the RR crew race to complete the stretch of track to Cheyenne as dark forces gather against him.
Still here, after Ep. 8.
Ray-Ray is just covering up with the dumb act—he will be revealed in
future episodes as a criminal mastermind. You heard it here.
I love the way this riff spells loneliness. I also love the way it goes with the images. Very evocative. We're talking about two sides of a border; an unresolvable crime; each lost girl leaves someone pining—well, that part may not be true, but certainly the greater percentage of losses are mourned by someone.
p.s. How lame was that slap on the ass scene?
Onanymous, I share your hopes for The Bridge. For a new show, it's shown a lot of grit. It's by far my favorite show this year, and I'm hanging on for more. In seasons to come, new series will be compared to The Bridge—on its own merits (byline: I'm tired of comparisons to The Wire already.)
What ICN said. Love Emily Rios and would like to see more of her in
second season. In Adriana, we have a complex character and an actor who can play her
well.
Agreed. The relationship between Sonya and Marco is compelling.
Beema said, "My only real fear is that there will be some single big bad behind the Girls of Juarez thing."
It's a real problem with adaptations. This show could go its own way and do marvelous things with plotlines about the specific crimes of Juarez/El Paso, esp. the Juarez girls. I don't know what their legal obligations are now, but I am hoping that they can go forward in that vein—which could be a compelling…

Eloquent, like the ending of King of New York when Walken just dies quietly in a cab. I liked the way the camera lifted so we were watching from above, with Walt's disembodied spirit. I liked how we were allowed to ascertain his death by observing the movements of the cops, how they stepped around his body. Sad and…
Yeah, Whitford's delivery is great. I love the juxtaposition of him being laid back and his ex Diane being such an imperious baddie. MGH is enjoying her role way too much.
Hahahaha! Whatever blows your hair back.
Kate has to be dumb and pretty to get laughs—they need to try a little harder. For instance, they need to give Kate a hobby. Welding, for instance. And she needs to be a little more attentive—although Bert was really fun on caffeine. Kate is just too predictable to be interesting, although Pete seems to find her so.…
Bert's really fun. The whole idea of a little kid thinking he has a uterus was funny.
I don't think this show has found itself yet, but with this cast, I'll give it more chances. Yeah, Jackie seems to have gone from hippie to slush. But Michaela Watkins is fun, no matter what they make her say or do.
"Soccer Stepmom" — Go for the balls!
The crawling race was fun.
