The thing is, the intent of scenes in TV shows often goes a little awry of what was intended by some, even most, of the participants. You've got writers writing something, actors interpreting it on the day, and editors stitching together a scene from multiple takes and deciding what to put in and leave out, as well

If that's really what some people are saying, they are incredibly dumb.

Not only is that out of character for Tywin, I don't think the show has implied he was in on it at all. Tyrion raised the possibility, but he's in "everyone is a suspect" mode. I think they'll stick to the books as far as this conspiracy.

I agree, and I feel the same about the Drogo/Dany scene people are now revisiting and reevaluating. Whatever the showrunners' motives, turning ambiguous quasi-rape into definite rape doesn't necessarily seem like a bad thing. If you want to get to the root of our "rape culture," the notion that women secretly want

Yup. Really hoping that books 4 & 5 are somehow condensed into a single season of the show. If they're really trying to do this in seven, they'll probably need to.

I think it's worth pointing out that it's only half a change, though. The book scene was a Straw Dogs-esque "no, stop it, no no no… yes… oh god yes" kind of thing. Icky sexual politics there. The show pretty much stopped after "no no no."

^ That. Martin's scene smacks of sick wish fulfillment, or at the very least, him weaseling out of a gross situation. I liked the scene on the show better. It makes Dany and Drogo's relationship more complicated, and her character arc more impressive; and it says more about his culture and what really would go down

I agree with that. I think you also have to look at the cultural context a little bit on that one - Drogo truly is a member of a "rape culture," in that his people buy their wives (or are given them as gifts) and have certain, uh, husbandly expectations that are going to be met one way or another. Which is not to

The correct answer is "who cares." It seemed clear to me that they were willfully mixing time periods in the language, outfits, and technology we saw - not to mention all the 80s/90s high school movie tropes. Regular Show is about as interested in being period-faithful as the Looney Tunes.

I don't think they were going for period accuracy at all. That seemed like an obvious joke to me.

Same joke was in an episode of "Seinfeld" too.

Nothing's wrong with a good poop joke. First of all, no less a celebrated comedian of the moment than Louis CK has this to say about fart jokes, which is very much in the same neighborhood (so to speak): https://www.youtube.com/wat…

I think she's terrible in general, but she serves this movie well enough. She was also pretty good in a small role in "Unstrung Heroes."

That was a joke, Scotty. Beam yourself up.

And yet you fuckers just bitch and bitch about "Lost."

I think you misunderstood me. My point wasn't that Johnny Thunders was wrong about the large number of jokes about Raj being in the closet. There are indeed a lot of them. My point is that they aren't implying that Raj is ACTUALLY GAY, and there will never come a time on the show when he comes out. And also, that

Where did either I or the person I was replying to even mention the light saber belt?

I think you're misreading it. His frustration at Howard is a repeated note the show has played, but most of the explicit "Raj is such a girl" jokes were still very much just standard sitcom jokes, as was the "swordfighting" bit at the end. They may struggle to manage tone, but trust me, this is not going anywhere.

They're not trolling, nor is Raj coming out. The show is based around lots and lots of running jokes. Raj being very metro/effeminate is one of those. It's not going anywhere, they just think it's funny.

Oh no. You're safe here - it truly can't be as bad as Episode I, because Episode I is The Crusher of Dreams and the Hole Where Amazing Effects and Quality Actors Go To Be Suffocated in Feces.
