PaNoire - that was indeed an ugly incident but I think the shame is misplaced.  It was a handful of specific assholes on the attack, and I think one or two in particular that extended things as far as off-site harassment.  Most of the response to her here was about what you'd expect (strong disagreement, some mean

Hates Sunny and South Park, likes Person of Interest.  Huh.  I figured such people had to exist somewhere, but never thought I'd find them here.

I'm a huge "Sunny" fan but I actually agree with you - this episode was overkill, and the original episode with the "Night Man" song was far funnier (really, one of the series' stone-cold classics).  There are still some good lines and scenes in this one, and one or two of the songs are funny, but overall it feels

"Too often it seems like cruelty for cruelty's sake and rampant zaniness
and crudeness without any sort of "straight man" element or "heart" (as
cheesy as that sounds) to ground it."

Radio, hell - just using the internet has exposed me to Thrift Shop about a thousand times.

White indie critics grade hip hop (and metal) on a major curve.

You first heard it a week ago?  You lucky bastard.

1. All red-blooded hetero males feel likewise.
2. The movie will satisfy.

"Sadistic" and "unconscionable"..?  The guy had a couple of mildly disappointing and disillusioning afternoons, then went back to being exactly the guy he was before.  What in the everloving fuck are you talking about?

I don't want to butter you up too much, but that quip is worth of Churchill, good sir.

Jay Mohr interviewing Margaret Cho… HOLD ME BACK

Both Vektor albums are incredible, no doubt about it.  One of a very short list of GREAT thrash bands formed in the last decade.

Jerkface - no, "Nothingface" is not a thrash record.  It's somewhat punky progressive metal.  There's not one actual thrash riff on the whole record (though it's brilliant).

I don't think that was meta.  The writers have outright said that Raylan is letting himself go a bit this year.  The hairstyle choice is intentional and not just a choice by the actor, I believe.

The last album of theirs I bought was "Chaos A.D."  Which isn't awful exactly but it's way too much groove metal and not enough thrash for my tastes.  "Morbid Visions/Bestial Devastation" through "Arise" are all unimpeachable.

He's not actually befuddled.  This may blow some minds, but Klosterman is pretty much a genial goofball who plays at being insightful (and occasionally actually is), but really is just like reading the better half of an interesting after-hours party conversation between a couple of stoned-but-witty grad students.  In

Name.  Fitting.

If you listen to music in terms of "innovation" then I guess it's hard to argue with you.  I'm more inclined to listen for things that sound good and were built to last, and the majority of D&B, to my ears, is built to be about as long-lasting as a stick of Fruit Stripe.  Finding some Actual Songs in D&B that you'll

Yes, he was in Possessed, though I doubt you'll be able to tell if you're working backward from Primus.  Great band nonetheless.

I'll fulfill my established role as the Underground Metal Douchebag and offer some alternatives.  Not that there's anything wrong with Bay Area thrash (they started it and popularized it after all, and most of those albums above are classics).  But thrash is a lot broader than the Big Four-plus. (Edit: I just
