It was a pretty go od joke, all things considered.

Geography has never been a strong suit on this show.  On a more localised scale they used to go to places in Massachusetts that are hours apart in a few minutes.   Then again most shows are like that, I've see a few Boston based shows treat the Berkshires as a 20 minute drive rather then the over two hour drive it

Imperial pounds are used in the UK and former Imperial/current Commonwealth countries.  Is also identical to the pounds used in the United States customary system, which differs from the Imperial system in other ways. Imperial pints equal 20 fl. oz. while American pints equal 16 fl. oz., for example,

Depends on where you are.  Anywhere with a good freeze/thaw cycle would see big cracks forming, and without cars to run them over weeds would push those cracks out even more during the summer.  And if it it's a road though the woods you would get a bit on encroachment.  They would still be usable, sure, but they would

I've always preferred the first two seasons as well.  In fact I think the first episode should have been on this list without question. The Lister/Holly 'Wait, are you trying to tell me that everybody's dead?' sequence is one of my favourate TV scenes ever.  I guess I just love its Vaudevillian roots.

I heard 'Big Bird laughed, right?', but I could be wrong.

I really doubt CTW would have cleared a Big Bird appearance that would have crossed any lines whatsoever.  Sesame Street characters make appearances on late night shows all the time, but they always keep it strictly G.  Same with saying anything even remotely political.

It would be funny if O'Brien and Riker got together and went on a bender sometime after this episode to make up for the fake hurt feelings and O'Brien did something that made the real Riker hate him.

If you had put the sideburns back on the Cardassians would have suddenly realised they had Starfleet Commander William Riker in custody by mistake and released you immediately.

Agreed, @LurkyMcLurkerson:disqus , at least on TNG he was the junior officer and had to defer to everyone.  On DS9 he had the power to lord it over everyone.  I love Worf, but give him power and he goes full on dick.

The Enterprise had been at DS9 at least twice before it was destroyed, so I imagine it was Will.  Probably during Birthright Part 1, since Quark's was still trashed during Emissary.
