"I don't think he is a rapist."

Oswald's sympathy play on the TV interview
"the question remains: what kind of psychotic child killer has enough of a grasp on public relations, and enough control over his own psychosis, to make this kind of play?"

I love Chris Eccleston, but we would be absolutely wrong for Stannis. Basically, if you're a good choice to play The Doctor, you would certainly be a very bad choice for Stannis.

In terms of casting, I think some people are worried too much about the age of the actors mentioned (e.g. so-and-so is too old to play Stannis, because Stannis is supposed be mid-30s).

"Yeah, except that all of the themes in this show are medieval bullshit that doesn't apply to modern life. I know fantasy-geeks don't understand this, but those of us who are watching this because it's a good show that happens to be a fantasy are laughing at you because of it. "

@Priowrea said: "Everything about the show is designed to further the show itself. All your talk about fantasy fiction is fine as an abstract, but there's absolutely nothing in 'Game of Thrones' that is about real life or the world that we face today."

"Robin Weigert would be a good Brienne"

"And this is why I need to reread the books before ADWD cames out. "

"I wish they had kept the line about how his father and made him take her last though, and to pay her a gold coin, "because Lannisters are worth more". "

I hear what you're saying, Todd. And I intended my rant about Walder to really be about Walder, and not so much as a pointed refutation of your commentary. Not sure if it reads that way or not.

You do recall correctly. LOL

Oh yeah, I hated Cat in the books, too./ She was one of my least favorite characters.

Ned's dead.

@Kojac says… "No matter how good a fantasy show is, it is still a fantasy show. The writers, directors and producers essentially make up all the facts, styles and story lines when a show takes place in a fantasy world. The Wire, like the world it portrayed, had to work within tight confines to create something

One thing I think most people are missing in regards to the lack of battle scenes is that this is not just an issue of_budget_ but an issue of _screen time_.

I think Stannis is entirely too unlikeable and unsympathetic a character for the story to hang too heavily upon him next season (and thus, for the actor who plays him to get top billing).

Nope. It comes out immediately after the Ned is seized in the books.

That is correct.
