I've lived in the UK for nearly a decade and I still buy NZ Marmite. The UK stuff is gooey and salty with none of the umami depth you get in the Kiwi stuff.

In the UK it's already on Netflix, being doled out one a week. That's how I'm watching it, and it seems fine that way, if, as you say, a little plodding at times. I'm not sure I'd bother with it if it was there in its entirety for binging.

For me the opening scenes and the music reminded me strongly of The Leftovers. It often moved between characters and scenes in that striking way.

The song is 'This Night' by Black Lab. It was used a few years ago on House for a montage as well.
