She was gracious, but that was undermined by the fact that she exited IN A CAFTAN.
Haha yes. Vivienne Pinay, Missing The Point:
"The judges said I was boring and low-energy, but what does that matter? At least I'm the fishiest girl in this or any season, and that's what's really important!"
Good call. I forgot about that. Still- he's got to at least consider that they might murder his wife, right? Couldn't she just fed ex it anonymously?
A wizard did it.
Rhys is really fantastic in this. Totally convincing as the middle aged American suburban dad, totally convincing as the "get out of my blind spot" badass, and really selling the pining-for-my-fake-spy-wife. An excellent choice for an undercover operative, comrades!
I just read it as the first time a black person ever said that phrase to a white person. I like to imagine Keri Russell thinking "Hmm… check yourself…. That's catchy!"
Posted something similar above before I saw this. I think that P+E thought that Joyce would be ok with the KGB. Otherwise, they would have killed her themselves. Elizabeth believes in the glorious-socialist-paradise myth, so I can see her believing that the Motherland would take care of Joyce and the baby. Philip…
You think? I think that the hard-edge spy part of her knew that Joyce had to go, but the softer my-husband's-friend's-secret-wife side of her thought that Joyce could go live happily in the socialist paradise of Cuba. Do you think she knew Joyce was dead when she got into that van?
Yes. First they came for Sundays, and I said nothing. Now they come for Wednesdays…
Thanks for the context, Your Imperial Majesty!
Yeah, I don't really get why Robert thought it was a good idea for his wife to contact the KGB. I get why Elizabeth and Philip want to/need to believe that the KGB will take care of the wife, and I get that the wife didn't know who she was reaching out to. But why wouldn't Robert just let his wife continue to live…
Possibly, but she did cover for him with Zhukov- she said he was trustworthy hours after he had tried to convince her to defect. Maybe she's just confident that she can bring him back around, but it seemed like there was some genuine loyalty/affection there.
Please- please, RuPaul, please. I will buy all your albums on Amazon and iTunes!!!
It makes you wish that Juliette Lewis were still around to shout "I don't come to Drag Race to see boobs!" into them.
Jinklaskatoxx!
YES. Like Oliver said, I loooooooooved Paulina's "This is hideous and tacky" and Coco's "I own that dress!" And somehow they both came off as likable.
@avclub-52795e2be0dc1ff7b30be19235f583f1:disqus EXACTLY. Because Sharon was using them to look eerie and alien.
Also in the running- Paulina Porizkova for confirming what we all knew about Tyra.
I HATE those eerie alien-eye contacts. Didn't like them when Yara used them, don't like them on Coco. Their natural eye color is so much prettier.
