i and 1, I'd say that's more or less accurate. I think the quotes are just playing around with our assumed expectations.

haysoos, does Eric Nies count?
It's alluded to in the thread below, but ann03, I'd just point out that Kim K's reality show came after her porn tape, not the other way around, and Paris' notoriety was cemented by social status and a porn tape, not via reality.
Lack of Name, I'm more of a 'Jail' fan on Spike myself.
And, E. Buzz, I think Troy's insights underscore that there is an art to making it.
Funny you say that, because I'm pursuing something wrestling-related as we speak….
I think that's accurate, Lack of Name.
Just my personal takeaway from the interview, but given that what we know and see is the sensational product, it was interesting to pull back the curtain and understand there's an actual, almost journalistic process, regardless of how one feels about the integrity of the results.
Ohhhh right. That whole visions thing. I forgot about that scene. Very Biff in Back to the Future 2.
Stillson was definitely on my mind. Although I believe he was just running for Prez when eh was shot, no?
I'm glad some folks have shared my enthusiasm for this show. Also, it's available via Netflix streaming if you have a Roku/Netflix account. It's amazing that VP wasn't just something dreamed up as satire in Forgetting Sarah Marshall.
You're welcome, Mon :) And I just want more Luke in Mod Fam!
You and my mother makes two.
I fully confess to my card-spotting gaffe.
Not really sure there's a whole lot more to analyze week to week in shows like Mod Fam, which are pretty structurally consistent but can have varying hit-miss ratios of laughter. Guess, a la Mod Fam, it all depends on what kind of audience there is for it. And with any show, the upside of week-to-week coverage can be…
Yes.
I think it's both of the first two. I don't think a show suddenly changes overnight, but I do think the producers, writers and network probably saw what worked and what didn't and made adjustments, much as a basketball team might as a game goes along (to use March Madness metaphors). Doesn't mean the original strategy…
That's awesome. Glad you enjoyed it. I just think it's a fun show most people would like.
I hope it doesn't entirely lose its sitcominess… (either way, can't say re: regular reviews, but it's been a lot of fun to kvell over it with you all this week).
All fair….
