I have no idea how I didn't make the Mamet connection. (That's what David and Rebecca's rueful matchmaker said.) Also, don't forget Zosia (or whatever her name is) was also on U.S. of Tara. Oh, and cub, re: Mad Men, you're totally right. I forgot about that role. Wild.

While I've genuinely enjoyed the show all season, it undoubtedly has come into its own. Ironic given it's about aliens.

I think all that stuff would have been funnier to me had the rest of the episode not been as strong where it kind of didn't need the stunt casting. It's really a compliment, if anything.

Weird. Unless they took it off cause the season ended, but I've watched it On Demand all season on FIOS.

I, too, keep waiting for Mindy to come together (gross pun not intended).

Several episodes should be On Demand….

I think you make a fair point about it being a bit overly modest, but I also agree that it will be fun to see how it grows once it begins to embrace all the positive feedback.

J.P….. I forget the exact order of events, but I seem to recall Giselle more or less reading between the lines in the moment. Either way, it played out sweetly to me.

I guess you feel they…. missed the Mark?

Comforting is the perfect word for it. And I'm glad it's maintained that while getting more sharp.

He's 27! He's the Carly Rae Jepsen of sitcoms.

In the proper doses, which I think this show has.

I understand that it felt kind of abrupt, but I agree with Newton that Giselle was a smart girl who decided to leave in dignity and basically tell Reggie and Amber to get a room without saying it.

I think that's a good point about trimming things like the crying goo, although I did initially look forward to getting to know the other residents more. Turns out they were just dead weight for the most part. Who knew?

Good point….

To me, the biggest improvement wasn't so much the pop culture satire in and of itself, but how the point of view changed to the Weavers and Bird-Kersees' shared outsider status. They're all aliens.

I at least feel validated to know my hunch was astute. Thanks for the insight Will!

I heartily second all your core points about the show's solid foundation and continuing development, and as I've said in one of the previous threads, would simply be heartened to see more people enjoying it. It's fundamentally just joyful to watch, even now that it's a bit more acerbic.

All this is true, and the first few episodes may seem sort of anomalous down the line, but I do think the laugh ratio has been fairly even keel all season. And I don't/didn't mind its initial sweetness.

Oh man, he's great. And briefly visible in Wanderlust and Looper.
