I re-watched that episode not long ago and it was still completely traumatizing. A total game-changer for that series. Not sure why I expected it to get any less grim going forward.

La Pipe, it was basically a thing where after 5 years he couldnt be tried for two crimes at once, or not the same crime twice, or something to that effect. Three-nineteen's comment below better explains the part I was more confused about.
