Were you watching the episode? It is made very clear that the police misdirected him… he says like "so I'm free to go" then the police are like "yes. Just one thing. You go on a register". And Hamm says "what kind" so he obviously had no idea.

Well, to each their own I guess. That is literally the exact opposite for me. I liked the first season of Hannibal, but I just thought it was kind of an over-the-top normal police procedural for the most part, whereas S02 was something else entirely.

What? You think Hannibal S01 > True Detective > Hannibal S02?
