I think there was a time in the show that this could have been true, but they seemed to have stopped developing her as a character in the past season or so and went back to her one joke over and over.

That's my contention with the hacktivist generation. They want to be heroes. There's something deeply unsettling with how they present themselves.

They added the "modern" part for a reason.

You probably mean rugby. Gaelic Football is so violent, or collision heavy. The sport that Americans are usually most shocked is Hurling, because people often get hit with  wood sticks.

Oh well, I thought this was about the almost identical comments made in this week's Harmontown podcast. My mistake.

Imagine if the AVClub made sensationalist headlines out of stream of consciousness bullshit said in every comedy podcast.

There was a lot of funny this week. Cyrus was an impressive performer. There was a genuinely great topical parody and most of the Weekend Update landed. I think this is about as good as 2013 SNL gets.

It's truly an inspiration to see someone on television night in and night out who clearly has less interest in their job than I do. I hope to one day reach those heights.

More than one person wrote the episode. And it's a show from Mike Schur, who likes to put sly Infinite Jest references into a show about local government in a fictional Indiana town.
