Joshua Tree is my pick, not just for the 1-2 but the rare 1-2-3 pick. That album starts with 3 songs (with it without being the third) that are arguably in the top 250 pop songs ever —and are each in the bands top 15 songs ever.

This was going to be my late catalog entry. The album was my fav from last year even with the caveat that it peaks after the second track.
One of my mindless favorites
Like puzzler in the other comment, I am a bit befuddled why there is a review of this film 5 years on. That said, I really enjoy this film. Not ironically, not forced, nor do I have to dumb down to watch it.
The big star cameo at the beginning is one of the best of it's kind this decade…
Oh, come on. Don't leave your uncle T-bag hanging
I think my adult introduction to comics (as in serious fare comics) was Frank Miller's Dark Knight Returns, and that'd probably be my recommended jumping off point for people who like superhero movies and kind of want to get into the comic book version of what they know from TV and film. To this day it's still gritty…
I love Franklin.
Return of the King is a good one, esp. with the death screaming, but my favorite moment that no one has mentioned in that film is right before the final charge at the black gates.
Don't call my prostitutes whores.
One of my faves, and better for 2009 is from Homer's Enemy.
Something went wrong and it should say a 40 something man with a TV anchor voice
Plus one more I forgot, which is still my go to talking in a movie theater story.
In the midnight showing, the crowd had been in quiet reverence the whole time, as if the whole crowd didn't want to spoil the moment for themselves or the person next to them. Nobody laughed at the jokes or awfulness of the jokes, nobody…
I have another Phantom Menace tale to add to the crop:
I was 18 and all of my friends were such huge fans it didn't matter how bad the movie sucked, I saw it 6 nights in a row.
A couple stories from this: My friend who was admitted to West Point decided this was moment for him to lose his "weed virginity." Since there…
"Hey, it's gotta work better than the truth."
Well, I will tell you this, Michael. I don't have a son…
~ He does.
But if I ever do I'm either going to take him to the cabin in the woods or I'm going to promise to take him and then not take him. But the one thing that I will never do is not tell him that I'm taking him to a cabin in the woods and then not take him.
…
Saying goodbye
I work in the building where Indie is (was) located and had come to know the DJ's staff and others.
