Yeah, I also got surprisingly emotional about the whole thing…the idea that we'll only learn the mother's name on her grave is making a lot of sense to me now.

I just started re-watching Huge for time in years yesterday, and was already struck by how RIGHT they are about all of the complications surrounding weight and body issues. It's one of the most honest portrayals of the struggle to be okay with yourself with amazing self-confidence and also want to lose weight because

"Did you hear? Did you hear? Don't tell Paul Revere! Don't tell Paul Reveeeeeeere"
"TOOOO LATEEEEE"

I was just going to post the pahty plahtah quote because my husband and I say it a LOT. Glad someone else enjoys it, too.

I agree! I'm seeing a lot of people who think that McCarthy is somehow limited in the scope of characters that she is able to portray. As a longtime fan, I know that she can play sweet and charming in shows like Gilmore Girls and Samantha Who, which leads me to believe that the problem actually falls with what the SNL

My husband and I just watched all of season 3 together, though he's  also seen multiple episodes with me that I've picked out at random. At the end of the season I was mourning the loss of Dave, and couldn't understand when my husband was like, "Yeah, I might even like Zach better though."

Which UD? Because if it's Dayton I'm very excited as a fellow Flyer (and I also got my acceptance on paper!).  Though by the time I applied places, it was all online.  In fact, there was such a thing as a "common application" that you could just digitally transfer to multiple schools! Though I've been out of college

Miss Patty, I think this is my favorite post of your yet! Your insight is appreciated.

Yeah, I think that was also added to make it seem like Chili's is a SUPER responsible franchise that would have known when to cut Pam off.

I feel like I remember hearing in the episode commentary that I listened to a long time ago that the "banned for life" thing happened because Chili's didn't want its brand to be associated with reckless drinking.  So the talking head was a compromise, I guess.

That scene of Peggy sitting down made me flat-out cry.  Peggy deserved a major win after the personal hell she went through.  I just hope that her new position as the next Don Draper doesn't emotionally wreck her like it wrecked him.

Okay, here are just some of the things I thought about this episode.

Right?! I don't usually think of them like that, but this last episode made me want to REALLY root for the two of them. Although I don't think anything will happen for a long, long, LONG time.

I was with a group of friends in the theater, and those of us who watch Happy Endings were completely freaking out about Adam Pally's presence in the movie.  One of my friends joked that the Tony Stark tattoo is now a good companion for the taco tattoo that Max got on the show.

Okay, I don't have a ton of substantive comments, but I do have some scattered thoughts about this episode.
1. When James was the one interviewing Mellie, my jaw dropped.  I probably could have seen it coming, but didn't even consider it. SO awesome!
2. As always, Mellie is the best. That interview scene was especially

I agree that the change-up in the "Suiting Up" montage was incredibly effective.  It was so jarring and entertaining and gross all at the same time to see Huck transforming and dealing with his job as his family grew.

I definitely noticed the slave trading thing, and actually said, "Huh? What about that?"

I must agree that the kidnapping plot was pretty easy to see through…however, I wondered the whole episode if the mom was in on it because her reactions were so weird.  At the end of the episode, I was kind of disappointed that the final twist was just that she was going to run with the money, because I wanted more

That line cracked me up.  I was chatting with a friend while we watched the episode, and we realized it's one of those lines of dialogue that probably looks ridiculous if you'd just read it on paper, but Cyrus makes it MAGIC.

I was so excited to see this Scandal review! Please consider week-to-week coverage…I promise I'll be at least one loyal reader.  If  I'd been able to see this week's episode, I would have more important things to contribute to the discussion.
