Concerning the ratings: I thought that they were quite good — it was a top 15 show while it was on Mondays. With all the singing shows having multiple shows a week, I thought that being #12 was pretty respectable.

I also enjoyed this episode, but I found the "feelings exchange" moment to be pretty corny.

I for one was very pleased with the feminist subplot; it's been a long time coming. The women of the 1920s with their scandalous, modern ways made great strides towards equality, so I am looking forward to seeing that play out in the show.

The sad thing is that I used to _live_ for these award shows back in the 90s. I wonder if the kids today care at all for these awards anymore. I can't see this fluff making much of a cultural impact — even to the young'uns.

Yeah, that's what I picked up on as well.

Thankfully, the German side of my family never taught me vaguely menacing things couched in religion. However, I do have a piece of old German artwork that says "Me and my house serve the Lord." A bit more positive. :)

Stangebär translates to Stickbear, which I think is supercute. :)
