I liked their first album a lot and then quickly got super bored with it. I like this one a good bit and I think it'll stick around longer. Carney's production really helped flesh their sound out.

I like that song quite a lot. I'm looking forward to this.

I now completely understand why Justin Vernon gave the Grammys a "fuck you"

I never really got all the criticism on the lack of hooks. Hooks or no hooks, I enjoy the songwriting for being so lush and well-orchestrated. Paralytic Stalks certainly isn't as immediate as their previous work, but after a few listens, most of the songs started sticking with me in a big way.

Probably my favorite of Montreal album that I've listened to, though I still need to get to their older material. I can see this being divisive though. It shifts gears a LOT in the back half and I wouldn't blame anyone for thinking it sounds like a mess. It just came together for me, I guess.

I've always ranked George at the top. His solo career as a whole wasn't too great, but I always enjoyed his nice balance of Paul's pop sensibility and John's weirdness. Very strong and interesting songwriting at his peak.

I'm sorry in advance

Well, again, I think most of the excess hate stems from a bait and switch. "Hey, I like this Video Games thing. This girl seems pretty genuine." "Ha HA, NOPE! She's as fake as all our other pop stars" "Well shit."

Well, the review still talks about what they liked about Video Games. The album itself just didn't live up, I suppose. Which isn't too surprising, since I believe - and correct me if I'm wrong - that the album was pretty much rushed through after Video Games had been released.

I think the issue is that when Lana appeared a few months back, she seemed really genuine, doing her own thing and all that. Then it was revealed that she was retooled by UMG, which I guess left some people bitter. Then she started getting promoted HARD. REALLY REALLY REALLY HARD. Salt all up in them wounds. The SNL

A little overstuffed, but I liked it. Fantastic production.

Totally misread the Daddy's Girl description as just "in which a woman discovers that her dad is now dating her"

EL&IC does a great job of displaying the incredible power known as "Oscar Bait"

I'll never get tired of Daniel Rossen's voice.

Less excited about this year's lineup, but I hope NPR gets some good recording again. Their SXSW 2011 coverage was pretty excellent.

Musicians: Make the music you want to make
Listeners: Listen to what you enjoy

I honest to god thought the picture was of that girl from Odd Future for about half a second.

Duckface syndrome is a serious condition.

Are there any pictures of this, because that sounds hilarious

No need to get all furious over a review. In my opinion, Dälek's been doing the whole shoegaze/noise hip-hop thing better for the past decade.
