I think standup Louie was intended as a surrogate of "real Louie", elucidating his views on the subject so when "show Louie" had his scene with Pamela the audience understood it would be loaded with purpose.

Also he was in the Amy Schumer 'O'Nutters' skit.

It's also worth noting (since I don't think many places have done so) that "Live Room" seems to borrow almost verbatim the melodic motif from Steve Reich's "Piano Phase." It's pitched up a bit but it's an overt homage.

He's in Zs and he's excellent there. I saw them play a two day show, with the second day for solo projects (his is Guardian Alien), which were two of my favorite concerts ever.

Some of the line readings in S3 were unbearable and half the episodes I could go without watching ever again.
