I kind of like that, instead of focusing on the fact that he was old, it just focused on the fact that his life was super-lame. I mean, yeah, it's unnecessary, but in what way is that so bothersome?

Will you stop reading that Rand Paul pamphlet?
I don't believe so. IIRC, Homer drafts Flanders because he has a truck with four-wheel drive.
A bunch of people around here bitched that they were upset to find out Homer was a homophobe, though, in my mind, that seemed perfectly natural. I mean, he's not even hateful about it, just very literally homophobic.
cf. whoever wrote the above article trying to scrutinize whether Skinner knows Flanders. IT DOESN'T MATTER, DUMBASS.
I also watched it in a TV room full of college students and can remember no complaints.
See it. Plenty of good jokes. That's what The Simpsons is about, not character development or any such bullshit.
Where the Hell do you live that they don't show Homer's Phobia in syndication?
I cannot for the life of me think of any scene where they appear at Springfield Elementary. I mean, there are like 600 episodes now so it gets kind of hard to keep track, but I should be able to remember at least one scene and I can't.
Yeah, I was really disappointed.
I love how that one goes a good three minutes after the episode ends. Really underrated episode in general, too.
I kind of like that revelation. Why couldn't he be 60? You've never discovered someone was much older than you assumed?
That one is definitely lame.
What are you, high?
That one is super messy, kind of like a lot of the modern, HD era, but there are plenty of good jokes in it. The whole Homer as quizmaster opening is hilarious.
That one is pretty bad, but what bothers me most about it isn't the infamous panda rape thing, it's the fact that the end just doesn't make any sense. Homer gives up his position as Santa, thus not throwing rotten fish all over the crowd, but he allows Mr. Burns to do it, so what the Hell's the difference? Maybe…
It was so perfect for the time, though.
Good lord! The rod up that man's butt must have a rod up its butt!
I watched Blackhat last Sunday afternoon. Agree, total bore. The shaky cam stuff made the action scenes unwatchable. Mann has totally lost it.
I do plan on it someday. I actually bought the film on DVD used from a video store, but ended up selling it at some point. It was only after catching up with more of his movies that I wanted to rewatch it. I keep waiting for it to come to some streaming service.
