I wonder how many viewers have shown up to MMFR with silver spray paint covering their face, you know, as a joke?

HOT

Both of them are extremely overrated.

I definitely liked it, but you're exactly right. It was too invested in its metaphor, and too obviously spelled it out way too early (the second time the book appears, it basically tells you exactly what the film is about and pretty much what's going to happen). The monster is so figurative the film never has a chance

Heh, two other people who don't get The Inkeepers.

I know every time I see her in a movie I think, "Ha, the landlady from Kingpin."

(vomits more)

I can't recall the title offhand, but it's the one where Homer becomes a prison snitch. Frank Gehry guest stars as the designer of a new symphony for Springfield, but no one likes it and they turn it into a prison. I think it's a fairly good episode myself.

I had no idea there was an actual song called "Death Cab for Cutie." I'll have to look that up when I have some time.

It shouldn't be. It really is a piece of shit.

There's a middle period Simpsons episode where the residents of Springfield go to a performance of Beethoven's 5th and all promptly get up after the first part, declaring they've already heard the best part.

If I have to skip a track, it automatically knocks an album down a peg in my mind.

I've gotten in trouble for saying this in the past, but to me the White Album feels like a really great B-sides collection.

I love it, too. Yes, it's nasty, and it's particularly nasty because John Lennon did abuse one of his spouses, but it's such a hilariously stark contrast to all the "love love love" stuff.

Okay, I was incorrect. Thank you for the info.

Maybe someone else will pop up and solve the debate (I'm too lazy to Google it right now), but I don't think it did. I wasn't around at the time, mind you, but I swear I've read that before.

She is one of the world's great actresses. I particularly recommend Take Care of My Cat, if anyone hasn't seen it.

MEDIOCRE!!!

I would definitely watch the series if it were just called Asian Lady vs. Black Guy: Machete Battle!

I believe the text scrawl didn't appear on Star Wars (nor did the subtitle "A New Hope" until it was rereleased in theaters pre-Empire.
