Well, it just occurred to me that I haven't seen a single film released this year.

Every one who attacks West defaults to the same argument…"Nothing happens".  It's just a symptom of the ADD generation not understanding how the visual medium of film is used to generate atmosphere and ambiance rather than churn through a list of rote plot points.  The SPOILER generation will not appreciate West.

The first VHS was utter rubbish but for Ti West's "Second Honeymoon", which was genuinely clever and unnerving.  That short felt like it belonged in an entirely different anthology, a much better one at that.  Horror movies are in a woeful state right now, I'm grateful for old-school maestros like West who still know…
