Liked the way in that Yeti Point sketch how they kept doing close ups of Mars looking at the camera in weird ways because it was so much like that excellent return of "The Californians" last week.

I would agree, but for the most part Pete seems to have the best grasp on what he is doing, so if someone was to start Oggletree the first week he would be the last guy to do it, I imagine. Kevin, Taco, Andre, and maybe even Ruxin (though this is a little stretch) would be in line, but I could never see Pete nor Jenny…

Oh, I'm not using Ellie as a barometer, it's just usually when she's featured in an episode I laugh a lot more. The character aspects work though, and the Pete resolution was pretty good.

Odd, despite some laughs I didn't really think this episode was all that great. Just seemed, even for this show, too predictable and connected. Great Andre parts, but surprisingly Ellie wasn't as funny as she usually is in her smaller parts, and even Pete wore a bit thin. Interested to see how the Shiva stuff plays…

Ah yes, wandering off in the middle to check e-mail and fold laundry, just as McDonagh intended.

Felt like this was a terrible episode. My biggest laugh came from the disconnect between the opening monologue going on about how everything doesn't have to be pumpkin flavored yet and there are no holidays because it's too early. Then the commercials that followed and led in to the sketch about a Halloween dance both…

Wow, this is crazy. Nick's determination to keep Linda Ellerbee around is almost as weird as when MTV News continued to hang on to Kurt Loder even though he was way beyond that demographic. Or, perhaps more fitting, how astounding it is that Sway is still there. I remember when I was just a wee lad and Nick News was a…

You're right, I actually had a different sentence and then reworked it specifically so I could capitalize Breaking Bad (though I should have used italics as well) in hopes that it would pop up in each subscriber's notifications and then I could get ten thousand replies bitching about it not being about Breaking Bad.

Indeed. I should have specified that both that Nick show and The League were longer form sit-coms that used them as key means of plot advancement rather than sketches or cut away gags like the Family Guy quartet.

Now it may have been used in other shows, and I doubt many other AV Clubers know or care about this, but the Taco plotline is basically a cowboy skinned version of a B plot from a season 3 episode of the Nickelodeon live action series Victorious where Robbie and Cat start a business around the idea of them Breaking…

My assumption as to how it could be dated is based upon which medals Brody is wearing. I assume when he returned and was promoted he was given at least one new medal. I don't know how these things work, but that's just a guess.
