Take a close look at Feldman playing piano during the 'Puttin'on the Ritz' number - he's decked out in a tuxedo, but has no hump. That's because they cut a great exchange in which Wilder claps him on the back before they go on, surprised to find his hump is gone. To which Feldman replies, "Never with tails."

I will never, ever get the 'Spaceballs' love. I'm not knocking those who love it… but man, I can't fathom why they do.

Yeah, I love 'Top Secret,' too. Made the mistake of listening to a little of the Zucker/Abrahams/Zucker audio comentary on the DVD, though. Classic case of comedy writers shitting on their own jokes (even the good ones) and making fun of any old 80's-era technology in the film (record players, Cuisinarts, etc.). Just

I can't wait to see the ratings classification for Holy Motors. I can only hope it reads 'Rated R - For violence, nudity, hair-munching, dude sporting a full-on boner.'

Ugh. Talking about a stupid movie and a stupid political debate breaks out. Can't we all just agree that Independence Day was terrible? Isn't that common ground we all share?

As a director, Tim Burton's a pretty good production designer.

Kudos to Sam Adams for the Supersuckers mention! They make good 'mad' music because they're loud and sloppy and really funny. In addition to 'Fisticuffs' I'd add 'Pretty Fucked Up' (if you're angry at your significant other, or ex-significant other), 'Supersucker Drive-By Blues' (if you're pissed while driving) or

To some extent this just comes down to a discussion of personal tastes. The people I know who loved Hunger Games are people who read primarily for entertainment. The people who didn't love it so much are people who read for intellectual stimulation. (And the people who straddle that line tend to think it's

Well, like I said - twice - taste judgements. Other peoples' musical tastes are like their religious beliefs: I really don't care what you like/believe, just please don't force me to listen and we'll get along fine.

Granted, this stuff always comes down to taste judgements, so I'll just say the AV Club writers and I do not share the same musical taste and leave it at that.

The best thing about this show is how genuinely funny it is. Subversively so, in many ways.

Since I can't reply to your most recent post, I'll reply here…

I suppose it's gonna depend on how deep the compromises are.

I have a bootleg that seems to be missing only the ending to the scene where Redgrave masturbates with the charred leg bone (uh… spoiler alert?).

'The Devils' is, without doubt, one of the greatest films of the 70's - a decade known for producing great films and filmmakers. I hope the promise of an uncut DVD proves true this time - it's amazing.

It saddens me that I know this… but 'Vampirates' is an actual series of books.
