"her choice to fill the screen with nearly everything she shoots "
I'm confused.
Before I watched Planet Earth, I never saw a lion riding an elephant. It was inspirational.
Yeah, go for Supper. It's not as depressing as a lot of other Smog records, or check out Accumulation: None, the Bsides collection, which gives a very good cross section of Smog's work.
After spending the last three days with the album, I'd say it is an A-. It's pretty great.
Me too, twice, and he rules. I wish he would tour exclusively with Jim White drumming though.
And don't forget how I gave to charity.
River Guard form Knock Knock belongs on any Smog compilation.

If you like anything of Tago Mago, just plunge yourself into anything by Exmagma, Embryo, Amon Duul II, or Agitation Free. I would recommend those bands before Neu or Kraftwerk.
That doesnt always work…but hte only example I can think of is Hum. Their last two records are huge improvements over their first.
A few years ago, the alamo draft house did an outdoor show with 4 inflatable screens showing 4 different interpretations of Zaireeka with the album playing. It was rad. Being surrounded by the PAs and the movie screens was awesome.
Pierre talking in all seriousness about the programming of adultswim having music that doesnt relax him before he goes to sleep….brilliant.
Robot on the toilet?
Thank God for Saddam Hussein.
