I'm looking forward to seeing what the show will make of the interactions between the US and British agencies involved in postwar intelligence. Cold war intelligence is an interest of mine, and some of the biggest barriers to effectively countering Soviet efforts, particularly in the years just following the war,

I thought I was the only one who noticed!

Yeah, I thought it appropriate that they changed the name of the movie character to reflect the "model," in this case, the actress playing her. It was a nice acknowledgment that the "Betty" character was more than just "the girl in this story."

I bailed on Agents of Shield about halfway through season 1. Everything that wasn't hopelessly mediocre about it was actively bad. I couldn't even enjoyably hate-watch it.

Hats off to Connelly for stepping into the shoes of Bettie Page homage Betty from the Rocketeer comic. I leave choosing appropriate substitutes for the words *Hats* and *shoes* as an exercise for the reader.

I watched the first two seasons of Moonlighting recently and was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed them. I loved the show when it was on the air, but I was 13 when it started, and not everything I appreciated at that age has held up (or was good to begin with.) I barely remember Scarecrow & Mrs. King, but

I might actually have to see this movie now. I saw a screening of "Ruby in Paradise" attended by the director, Victor Nunez, and Ms. Judd, whom I hadn't heard of before. She's absolutely stunning in person (or at least, she was when she was in her mid-20s.)

Maria *was* the hot one, too much so for my 16 year old self. The shy, sensitive, literate, curly red-haired poet in big sweaters was more my speed at that age.

I never actually saw "Kuffs" but remember it primarily because his girlfriend in the movie was played by Milla Jovovich, who was 15 at the time (although I think she was supposed to be playing a college student.) This was shortly before her career entered its renaissance with "Dazed and Confused", an era that

Yeah, I think of that terrible video from that terrible show every time I hear that song, which isn't very often, thankfully. I remember watching it faithfully in high school because I had a crush on Krystyne Haje, just as nature intended.

Not while Train exists. I've long described Train as "my own private Nickelback."

That Vitamin C song was clearly intended as a pitch for class song, much as I thought John Mayer's "No Such Thing" was. Tell me nobody has actually chosen that as a class song.

Orchestra! Not band!

Looking forward to seeing this. My wife is a violist (NOT a violinist; make that mistake at your peril) with a MA in Arts Management, has played in a bunch of orchestras, used to work as a coordinator for one, and is currently in nonprofit fundraising. I've heard some crazy shit about orchestra people, and I expect

I really dug Blueberry Boat and have all their output to date, but admit that their material varies from "really great" to "amusing curiosity." I've seen them twice, once as a duo and once in their "band" formation—both were fun and dynamic. Some of their songs are barely recognizable live. They've got a two disc live

My wife saw IaWL for the first time last week, and she was really surprised at how long it is before we get to the part where George wishes he hadn't been born. Like a lot of people, she thought it was a movie "about" a guy seeing what the world would be like without him, when most of the movie is about what the world

It's definitely earned. On top of all you relate here, the lesson in the end is that George's life is inestimably valuable despite the fact that he spends much of the movie giving up his fondest hopes and dreams. There aren't too many movies about characters who find happiness by not following your bliss.

I'm sure Black Stallion (below) is right, we'll get a review…hopefully.

I was trying not to draw that conclusion, but it's kinda there. I was very surprised to see a story about a release date announcement months away and nothing about Black Messiah. Then I wasn't surprised.
