I agree. The storyline was pretty nifty. I've always enjoyed psychological horror, where characters question their own sanity, for good reason, even as they're being menaced by real nasty dark forces. It did kind of remind me of "1408" which I like.

The music in Sinister—mostly by Ulver, I've read—helped to make it pretty damn unsettling. And the home movies, geez.
