He had his own show at one point, right? I thought this article was going to be him getting a shot at his own thing… But this sounds interesting enough.
I felt the role itself requires such a range, from the desperation in the early stages to the sentiment toward the end, and he really hit every note for me. I tried to imply in my comment that it wasn't about the singing live, but I also feel like a lot of people thought that was too gimicky.
However, Anne Hathaway…
I forgot about Joaquin… That was a good one too.
I feel like this is finally my moment to say that Hugh Jackman got ripped off that year. I'm not one for the "body of work" gifting of awards, but did Daniel Day need another Oscar? I'm just saying that even without all the singing and the production background, Jackman's Valjean was incredible.
I finally watched the 25th Anniversary version of Phantom of the Opera. I'm a big fan of Ramin Karimloo, and though I don't find Phantom to be as good as Les Mis, with which he is also frequently associated, I think the whole thing is cool. It's the kind of show that benefits from a lavish production, so it was cool…
If it means anything to anyone, and it should given the article, I was at Sierra Nevada's Asheville brewery and the Oktoberfest test batch if FUCKING DYNAMITE so everybody should be PSYCHED for the fall anyway.
I actually met Pujol once… He was sound checking and I yelled "Hey Pujol!" and he yelled "Hey!" Then we chatted after the show.
His backup guitarist looked a lot like a short Art Garfunkel, so I told him that, and he told me I looked like a tall Paul Simon. Then we took a photo together… Good guys…
The Smiths – Asleep
They should know by now. Serve veggieburgers, or don't book the man!
“Doolin’ Dalton” – The Eagles
A remake of Bicentennial Man would be great. The version with the late, great Robin Williams isn't as terrible as some would say, but it trades much of the emotional and theological heft for comedy and cornball sentiment. With the right people, that novella could be mined for a great movie.
She's in Rocky's two and four…
I'll defend Rocky Balboa all day. A real return to form after 3-5.
You should have put Closing Time last…
Communication Breakdown- Led Zeppelin

"Is She Really Going Out With Him"

But I want to hear a cover of the Band version, not the original…
Saw the trailer for this. Looks pretty cool.
Pumped for the Office Classic to come back… I sure do hope Jim and Pam get together… There is just no way to be sure!
