New York Times (3/26/14 Arts section) is heaping praise on The Middle. Possibly it's behind the paywall, but the article is called When We Were Young, and Dads Were Men, by Alessandra Stanley. Good stuff.

'm kind of with djp141: my first thought was, "Um, is it me, or did Frankie get hotter over the summer?" But I didn't really think about it any deeper than that, so it didn't occur to me that she'd had work done, only that she looked hotter. So, basically, it's guys like me who keep plastic surgeons in business. Sorry.
