Yeah, I think it comes from both angles.  It's obviously kidding, but still manages to be a rousing pro-America tune nonetheless.

I love me some Luc Besson, and the review is mostly positive.  This might be worth a go before all the awesome fall stuff comes out.  One of life's great pleasures is watching De Niro own fools.

I'm fully prepared for Wolf of Wall Street to be the best movie of the year, and possibly an all time great.  I hope I'm not getting my expectations too high!

Dan Simmons is fucking great, except when he kinda sucks.  The Terror, Carrion Comfort, Song of Kali, Hyperion, The Fall of Hyperion, and Illium/Olympos are all fantastic.  His Kurtz novels are fun.  But some of his stuff I could barely finish (Drood, Summer of Night, Fires of Eden, Flashback).
