Hey, everyone remember the episode when ACTING ENSIGN Wesley Crusher got put in charge of a scientific team of actual Ensigns and Lieutenants? Can you guess how they would have reacted had that occurred in the real world?

An additional problem with Picard's style in general (as opposed to in the series) is that it could lead to paralysis. Frequently managers like Picard will request unreasonable levels of information before they'll take a decision. Sometimes decisions need to be taken quickly, with incomplete information.

I won't hold that against the episode, though.

It really is getting harder and harder to believe that you and Frakes aren't the real Sirtis and Frakes. Everything about your comments rings true. Especially your mutual deprecation of Brent Spiner.

One of the great unanswered questions in The Matrix series is why the humans were so damned eager to get out of the Matrix, and why they wanted to unplug it for everybody.

David Warner is simply amazing. He cannot get enough appreciation. Patrick Stewart vs. Cardassian David Warner - wow.

I'm also in the pro-Jellico camp. I see Zack's point, but I also see Jellico's perspective: for all he knew, he may be Enterprise Captain throughout an extended war with the Cardassians. From his perspective, it makes all sorts of sense to get the ship as he likes it right now, as he may not have the time later.

There's also the fact that holograms look like people, while the ship doesn't. Maybe machines that look like people have a 25% greater likelihood of achieving sentience?

I consider the montage sequence in 'The Woods' to be the best I've ever seen.

Hey, my first double-post! I feel as though I underwent a rite of passage.

KB to the rescue!

The Doctor wandering around Voyager
OK, here's something that bugs me about Voyager (one of many things).

Um… Q did it.

I'm not sure that I like this version. I anxiously await the Morn 2012 line.

Just to reiterate my oft-commented on hatred of Voyager:

Just a few more comments on the Science Officer point:

You're right; Data is, in fact, both Second Officer and Science Officer. I don't believe we ever get to see him in those roles, though. It's Riker and Troi that do crew management. We do get to see Data in the lab, but that's his side projects, like creating Lal and de-Borging Picard.

For added fun, check out Zack's 'Generations' review. Reading the comments should be a whole afternoon's entertainment.

How about Wil Wheaton as a nerd icon, who can't believe how awful his performances were back in the day?

Nope! Picard looks at a photo of himself during his academy days, and he's bald as a billiard ball, retconning Tapestry and Violations!
