From The Sandman Companion:

I was very surprised by Noah's interpretation of Ramadan. Indeed, I don't think the deal went badly for Raschid at all - I think he got exactly what he wanted. The city lives in in dreams, which is what the deal explicitly states. One could imagine Morpheus pulling a Shakespeare-style deal with the author of 1,001

Huh, I just read Gaiman last night saying that there was actually a Chinese guy named Ah How who spent a lot of time with Norton. He found this a nice bit of synchrony as he'd already put the chamberlain character into the story when he discovered this.

Like you, I always view Desire as female, even when the story/artist is explicitly playing up the androgyny or male-ness. Maybe the only exception to this is one of the views of Desire's fortress in the Doll's House, which looked super male.

I just read Gaiman's interview about this in The Sandman Companion, and that's one of his favourite lines as well.

Yeah, Fear of Falling was basically an ad, but since Gaiman was an Important Writer they had to collect it somewhere.

Can you point to a single example which comes even remotely close to saying what you've said in your first paragraph? No, I didn't think so.

Really? Where, why?

All of their lyrics? Because that would have been a lot of ink.

I read that as "You niece has great tits." Which, seriously, is a little inappropriate.

Eh, don't script it or anything, just something along the lines of "I'm into you, more than a friend, can we make this a thing?" or "I want you to have my babies", or "If you don't love me I'll kill your family".
