I love the image of the tanks rolling over the hill and more or less forcing Judas into the path of the Pharisees, like the tanks are the inescapable hand of God keeping everyone on their prescribed path. so sinister.

I love Sondheim passionately but he's definitely a lyricist first, with the music bending to fit the patter and rhythm of the words. I think the one exception in his body of work would be A Little Night Music, probably because he set himself the challenge of writing all the music in waltz time. It's swooningly

I remember watching the movie in 10th grade religion and crying hysterically in the middle of class at that scene. Awkward.

It was some pretty spot-on hypnotoad drag, though:

Me too, Jose Peterson! Wachovia Center 2003

Yes!! I'd bet Jasmine has some Dida-level lipsynchs in her.

I haven't seen anyone reference my line(s) of the night yet so I'll leave them here:

Legs akimbo. I'm kind of surprised Ginger Minj didn't give herself a ginger minj, though

Holy crap, it was bothering me the whole hour trying to figure out who Violet reminds me of out of drag. No wonder I don't like her, she's tall Serena Cha Cha

I could see Ginger not standing for that shit though. She's already called out Max's London, Wisconsin accent - which is productive advice I think - and did it in a non bitchy way. I see her keeping the girls in line down the road.

I don't know, Max's schtick is visually flawless but does not hold up when she opens her mouth. The impression I got from her Meet the Queens video is that she's not witty or quick enough on her feet to pull off the act as a full persona (as Sharon Needles could). That being said, I absolutely LIVED for her

Jasmine is like a fun version of Milan. Energy coming out the eyeballs and completely bonkers fashion sensibility but not all self-serious.

I thought Pearl was Miss Fame for a good 5 minutes on Untucked before I remembered she was still out on the main stage. Then I thought she was Violet Chachki, and when I realized she wasn't I thought I was going insane because I had no clue who this random blonde queen was and how she got on set.

The only positive that came out of that lipsynch was Katya's running commentary on Kandy Ho's fight-dancing.

I demand Alaska commenting bitterly from the sidelines of every runway from here on out

Yeah, I'm waiting to see more of her in the workroom to see if she can turn off the capital-A Acting, like Ben de la Creme, or if she's going to be a Laganja and try to pull her schtick all the time. Hopefully the former, because her look is so polished & sets her a miles above previous theater-y queens like Jinx and

I actually really like the new Untucked format, although it was really disconcerting at parts. Namely seeing the timed entrance back into the workroom. I always figured they stumbled straight off the stage into the workroom, so it was weird as hell seeing them stand in silence, waiting for their mark, and then
