I totally find him needling and pedantic. At least when people don't understand the game, they're funny. I care much more about the humor content then the game aspect of it. Lil Wolverine always comes across as a spoiled toddler.

How do you AVC guys feel about Professor Blastoff? I swear I'm not trying to do a "HOW COULD YOU NOT INCLUDE…!" post, but I wonder if anybody's a fan. I love it.

I just did a command-F to see if anyone mentioned Watcher In The Woods. That shit is fucked up. And so great.

Download code confirmed:

Also, do vinyl copies will come with downloads? I think Merge releases generally do, but I thought I'd ask.

Hooray!!

Hahahaha. Oh totally.

You won't regret it! My favorite of the I.R.S. records. I was just listening to it this morning.

It is. For some reason, Green usually leaves me cold. But "You are the Everything" is indeed gorgeous.

Also, just saw your comment above about being sick of hearing "Everybody Hurts." I totally get why people dislike that song, but I think it makes more sense in the context of the whole record. So that might be worth a try.

I'd say it's as good a starting point as any. You could also check out In Time, their Warners compilation, which is decent. (It doesn't include songs from Around The Sun, Accelerate or Collapse Into Now, but that's not a terrible thing. Those last two are perfectly fine albums, but you can check those out later.)

It's funny, I'd loved Out of Time for many years before I realized how great that song is. It was when I heard the live version on the bonus disc of the In Time compilation that I realized. Then I saw them play it on the Vote For Change tour, and Neil Young came out and played a solo. That cemented it for me, for sure.

Man, even though it's not surprising they broke up after 30-plus years, this still hit me pretty hard. They've always been around as long as I've been alive (I was born the year that R.E.M. was born), and they've been my favorite band since I became obsessed with Automatic For The People on its release. What a bummer.

I know this is heresy to many, but my favorites are the Warner Bros. records. This is partly because I came to know R.E.M. in 1991, but also because they broadened their sound, and their songs, so much. Automatic For The People is probably my favorite record by anybody, and New Adventures In Hi-Fi remains a great,

It DOES wound amazing.

Man, this one did not do it for me. I found the mix really annoying, with those synths way out in front. And the lyrics were pretty awful all around. Or maybe I'm just a grumpy old man.

Whoa, my first new comment. Congratulations, Buckner!

Slow clap.

Yeah, it's definitely RIDICULOUS that he thought he could work with Fellini. But I remember being on Myers's side for a minute, because I'd definitely just name a crazy-prestigious person if I was goaded into it that much, too.

Wasn't it that he was sitting with Lorne Michaels, who told him to name anybody in the world he wanted to work with, and Lorne would get him on the phone immediately? Pigeon, is that right? It's been a long time since I read the SNL book.
