but regardless he has ties to Caracas no? point still stands… maybe.

I'm wondering if the etiology of the surprise has to do with Carrie's lack of insight about the the degree to which she was making herself the sacrificial lamb for the sake of this con. And what makes it interesting is the degree to which Saul likely did understand.
I agree with this for the most part, but if I'm to claim I was at all suspicious of this being a con before the reveal it was the ease in which Carrie "turned"- that was grossly out of character for her, even as far as Saul had taken it. But I suppose that's the point. It was out of character, because it was part of a…
I'm with you! We are bags together.
I have to agree with this despite how much I loved the plot twist. I mean I barely watched this episode and I certainly wasn't paying attention until the end. It was a high price to pay, but they've got my attention again, so here's to hoping the payoff is worthwhile.
Disagree. Fact of the matter is, Carrie is crazy, and institutionalizing her, even for the sake of this master plan would make her behave in an erratic way. Carrie has always been an emotionally labile and erratic character and in a way, that has been the mechanism for her best spy work. It's how she broke Brody, so…
I think it will. I think Todd made a very astute observation in pointing out that Brody is in Caracas which apparently is where our target is stationed. Remember we don't know why Brody is being "helped" by that creepy Venezuelan gang. I suspect it's collateral on our target's part to ensure Carrie's participation,…
I was walking around my apartment and in and out of the room with the TV and I picked up on that. :D
Agreed. They did an excellent job of totally de-investing me in and disillusioning me towards Carrie, Saul, the CIA, everything, and then in one moment, totally turned it all on it's head. I didn't catch it until the very end because I was only half paying attention to this episode, that's how little I cared. Then…
That's what I heard too.
I love this. And he's right. NO ONE called this. I did not see this coming at all and I absolutely was super frustrated and yelling about the huge "mistake" they were making. Brilliant. And honestly true to the show's story- a show about the CIA. They tricked the shit out of all of us.
Agreed I was so surprised. Especially because I was so frustrated last week. I loved this.
I was very angry at this show last week but they've totally got my attention again with this plot twist. I'm so surprised that I didn't see this coming, but I almost feel like part of the reason I missed it was because this is Showtime, the network of fallen gems like Weeds and Dexter and I was CERTAIN they were…
WOW so everything I thought was going on with this show was a game. WELL PLAYED HOMELAND.
was gonna say the same thing.
was also yelling at my tv last night, saying the same things. dangerous territory.
that's the eternal issue with scandal, take it or leave it the show will continue to go on at 200 mph.
Great review. I agree with a lot of what you're saying and right now it is only the knowledge of the shows former potential and the hope that all this "stage setting" is happening for a reason that is keeping me watching. Last night I was literally yelling at my televison "HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE, THIS IS A TOTALLY…
very delayed comment but I've given this episode quite a bit of thought and I remain unsure of how I feel about it, and not in a good way.
Completely agreed. He's an atrocious leader, he has no idea how to prioritize, he's emotionally unfit and is deeply delusional, not to mention a murderer, but you know, who's counting. Part of me feels that the reason Cyrus and Olivia and company are always going on about his greatness is because they need to believe…
