Plus his final line of "that was funny. Let's do it to someone else" really sunk the joke home to me. Frankly it was about the only time I laughed out loud tonight.

Are any of you who are throwing stones at the decision DFW made aware of what exactly his existence had come to in regards to diagnosed clinical depression? Or are you just reading the first three words and making a decision based on that?

I didn't know masturbation was perverted. I thought it was good clean fun. As Carlin once said, "If God didn't want us to masturbate he would have made our arms shorter."

But I can't wait for a Drunken MacNulty character. What would his power be? Banging chicks on hoods of cars while totally wasted?

I've actually been burning through a lot of these titles courtesy of my public library. The whole Civil War plot-line is valid, as is a few of the House of M titles and the New Avengers. Most have been released as collections.
Whether it's serious treatment or not, however, remains up in the air. There aren't

I want to see the best animators in the business take on The Dark Tower movies. I want there to be seven of them (if not eight). I want them to be very faithful to the plot/characters/settings of the novels. I want them to be bad ass. And I want them now. Is this too much to ask?

There's no doubt that Moore hasn't seen (m)any of his works translated well to the big screen. However, previews indicated that at least The Watchmen LOOKS like the source material; whether or not it's "true" remains to be seen.
In other news, I would plug a Thor movie pretty highly; I specifically remember one

Oh, and because I"ve got Dead back on my mind, where can I find the best live recording of Begonias/Fire? And, by best recording, I kind of mean a sweet version that has a setlist that can equal it.
Thanks.

@ Chris Moore:
I think somewhere around the tenth or twentieth time that Bob devolved his singing into "hooting" I really lost patience with him. And then the fact that setlists would almost always go Jerry, Bob, Jerry, Bob would often throw off the flow. It always seemed to me that Bob was just lucky to be in the

Oh, and also "Reckoning" for the acoustic angle. Just pretty much skip every Bob song (which is, sadly, about every other song).
It's worth it for It Must Have Been The Roses, China Doll and Bird Song (maybe Cassidy).

As a "recovering DeadHead" who has since branched away from the specific stylings the Dead were famous/infamous for, I seem to recall getting a lot of playing time out of Hundred Year Hall, a show from Germany 72. It has a great set-list, a mostly subdued Bobby, and the triple-billing of Pigpen and the Godcheauxeses.

I hope the majority of the sketch actors on the show come with. I've loved Andy Blitz ever since he played the Florida election recount supervisor back in 2000. At least we know Max and the band are headed to L.A.
I don't know that I've ever laughed harder than the first time I saw Mr. T yelling at apples, and Conan

For what it's worth, I read/heard somewhere that 9 Stories were written and organized to illustrate the "path to enlightenment", with Teddy being the absolute perfect example. The opening koan is worth noticing, in support of this claim.

If you're gonna go Buk, you gotta toss in some verse, at least "Mockingbird Wish me Luck" and "Burning in Water Drowning in Flame". Consummation of Grief might be the best poem ever.
Also, Notes of a Dirty Old Man.

Seriously? Comparing Seuss to The Tao? You realize that The Tao of Pooh is not a Pooh Corner story, right? It's a serious examination of the Eastern philosophy/religion/world view that has been around for 2000+ years, right?
And, also, regardless of A.A. Milnes' "crimes", the work by Hoff is very well done.
I would

Maybe a repeat elsewhere…
But the #1 book that I would require of graduating seniors would be The Tao of Pooh by Benjamin Hoff. I think it is the best, most succinct overview of an alternative perspective on life/living. It certainly would be an interesting dovetail to Catcher, as it does provide a compromise

I would say that, for me anyway, the one-two punch of Dark Side and OK Computer pretty much floored me for most of my High School years. I have been trying to get my students to "appreciate" OK Computer but they seem unable (or unwilling) to "read it" like I do.

What's next?
Anything, really: Timequake, Hocus Pocus, Cat's Cradle, SlaughterHouse V (probably the one guaranteed to be on any library shelf), Mr. Rosewater. And, if you want to see what he is truly capable of, Mother Night is so incredibly "un-Vonnegut" and still a tremendous example of a powerful narrative.

Oh, and am I the only one to think that the India women aren't out of the story forever? Would Ando and Hiro really travel across the world to stop a woman from being ripped out of her bakery/friend's life? Is it too much to think that maybe they'll be reintroduced later?
Also, wasn't her grandfather pressing her

I sort of got the impression that Tracy knew what was happening and let the guy on purpose so she would have to kill him. Maybe this is giving too much credit to the acting of the show, but it seemed like she had him tightly covered then loosened the chains. When he turned she iced him.
Plus and also, if you're
