There are way too many good shows with horrifically disastrous theme songs, NBC Thursdays are littered with them.

Why do so many otherwise ok-to-awesome current shows use such brutally offensive theme music?

I definitely thought subconsciously that Jaime was gonna get raped or molested in that scene. It probably was because of the 'Tickle Me Elmo' or 'Jesus Juice' comments, but I didn't make the connection at the time.
