His bad to good ratio is so out of whack now I don't expect a good film from him. He hasn't directed a film that everyone agrees is good for 18 years.
She sucked, and her suckiness contributed to the film's overall suckiness, but the blame doesn't sit with her but with her father, who cast and directed her. She is the most visible aspect of this misguided choice though, so you can understand why people would blame her.
