Capital anecdote, sir.

Can someone tell me how everyone pronounces 'Bakula'? I seem to have missed the memo. Does it rhyme with 'Dracula' or what?

I think he's a reformed addict, actually - and that's the very worst kind of addict.

I'd like to see "concurwithmyposition gents?" replace "amirite brahs?". Class up the joint a bit.

@avclub-f684e4c32e742e0684a5855544fcf09a:disqus He's probably less of a caricature in real life, but his peculiar blend of sesquipedalianism and malapropism suggests to me that he's not as smart as he thinks he is. If he were the well-read roue that he is trying to be then he wouldn't get it wrong as often as he does.

*taps nose*

I had some sympathy for Brent though, given that he was a lonely and pathetic man desperate to be liked. Ricky Gervais is David Brent from a parallel universe where his acting like a twat had somehow made him rich and famous. Our stupid universe.

Yeah, I've heard him defend it on those grounds before. Knowing what he was driving at doesn't make it any less of an annoying title though.

He looks like more of a spriggan to me.

I concur with this comment.

The Welsh, the Irish and the Scots. And the French.

"ON"

No, I'm afraid not.

Would you say that he dyed?

It's so fucking long I doubt anyone will finish it it, at least. I really didn't need a joke by joke account of a failed sitcom.

I really want to like Mars Attacks, but I just can't get round the fact that it's not very good.

Yeah, I was going to too, but I suddenly lost the will to live.

I think it's a bit simplistic to say that. The response to your argument is the same one that was made when Nabokov was made professor of literature at Cornell: "Shall we appoint elephants to teach zoology?"

That wasn't meant to sound like an attack; I was just describing the way that pop music journalism works. I've written that kind of journalism and used exactly the same kind of language, which is why I mentioned it.

"Yes, but there's nothing wrong with that".
