She-Hulk
Any intimation in "The Incredible Hulk" that a She-Hulk movie is in the works? I believe that, in the comics, she was Bruce Banner's cousin and became Hulkified after receiving a transplant of his radioactive blood. However, I wouldn't be opposed to seeing a reworked movie featuring a green, buxom Liv Tyler.

Why are you so bad?
This certainly didn't feel like an hour-long "movie," which is how the show bills itself. It just felt like awful TV, which is doubly disappointing since a supposedly gifted writer-director was behind it. (Anyone see Anderson's "Masters of Horror" episode? Was it similarly lousy?) The next ep,

The small homepage pic reminded me of that extreme-sports Human Giant sketch where the guy kayaks up a mountain. But this guy is just climbing thousands of feet up a sheer rock-face, like a pussy.

Shyamalan is headed for the same fate as poor Nicolas Roeg, whose last two directing credits are for "Puffball: The Devil's Eyeball" and "The Sound of Claudia Schiffer." I pity Roeg, at least; I can't say the same for Shyamalan.

Henry Kaiser
I'm impressed that he produced this movie and its score, and apparently was responsible for shooting some of its footage as well. I've admired his guitar-playing, but he's always seemed like a bit of a schmuck to me. This is another feather in his cap, I guess.

I'm a defender of "The Village" too, but I'm now convinced that the television footage of the Brazilian birthday party in "Signs" was the most effective thing Shyamalan has directed, however many seconds that adds up to.

You'd think a know-it-all futurist would have heard of donation bins at public libraries ("no textbooks").

Money Money
Considering that it was a 25-year-long labor of love on Erik Nelson's part, and considering Harlan Ellison's attitude about being compensated for anything bearing his name, image, or words, I wonder if Ellison negotiated for part of the ticket and/or DVD sales for "Dreams With Sharp Teeth." Obviously the

Very cool story, knyne. I've probably read enough of Ellison's work — and enough of the work of other writers that make up the nexus of his influences and allusions — to say something of substance if I should meet him, but I'm certain I would blow it. My brain would short-circuit and I'd just blurt out something

That home-page pic is definitely not flattering. He looks like a cross between William Friedkin and Rod Steiger.

Little-known fact
Harvested in the '70s, scientists at Oak Ridge National Laboratory are still in possession of a frozen sperm sample from Harlan Ellison and eggs from Camille Paglia. If the one were used to fertilize the other, then implanted in the womb of a surrogate, etc., we now have the technology to convert

Tom Snyder
I truly miss Tom Snyder, proto-"Ron Burgundy" that he was. His interviews with Ellison and Bradbury were always terrific, a kind of interview we'll probably never see on television again, Charlie Rose included.

That twilighty show about that zone
Did I hear the one guy tearfully telling his mortally wounded buddy, "Don't you die on me"?

Why can't monsters get along with other monsters?

I'm a vegetarian, and I will admit to having little patience for conventional Islamic dogma (although I generally dislike all the major religions), but the slaughter of animals in religious rituals or according to some kind of religious code (used by kosher or halal butchers, for instance) is usually more humane,

Yeah, Fuck Soup is stupid, but it made me laugh, the more I thought about how stupid it was. It's also the title of Chuck Palahniuk's upcoming cookbook.

Inevitable Comment
Okay, list your own punny title for an imaginary porn movie. Mine is "Clash of the Tight'uns."

It's hard to guess what determined their selection, but I'm sure their whole catalog will roll out in Blu-ray form eventually. Apparently, the Blu-rays will be priced the same as the SD discs.
