I saw Cheap Trick when I was 15. I had my hair dyed bright red (like Aurora shooter style Manic Panic red) at the time. For some reason Robin Zander kept looking at me funny all night, like he thought I was a freak. Meanwhile he's standing next to a guy playing a 5 necked guitar with a price tag hanging off of his

Nah, from what I gleaned from that Grantland article recently, he's probably still in love with her. He's been doing unsolicited videos for her songs & shit.

Does anyone else dread the idea that the next time she has an album out, however many years from now, all the interviews are going to be either her falling apart and being a complete neurotic flake talking about how she can't contextualize her arrest, or else she's going to get guarded and pissy and turn it into a big

I'm sure the fact that he's actually a part of the Hammer family fortune softens the blow a little bit.

I have that saved on a Word file for convenient situations. No other emoticon will be necessary ever again.

Never seen Wendy and Lucy but reading the Wikipedia page about it that seems to be exactly what I mean. I'll have to check that one out.

You're criticizing one thing for not being another thing when there was no reason those specific creators should have made that thing. It's like going to a pizza place and calling the owners lazy for not putting Chinese food on the menu. If its not what they intended to do, why should making a movie about anyone other

Harsh Times is one of my favorite movies, but this seems like it's just more of the same from Ayers. If he'd have hit the scene a few years later he'd be a TV producer making an ambitious series that ties all of this stuff together. Still, I wanna see this one just because I like the atmosphere and rhythms of his

See that's the problem I have with most movies and TV's depictions of "poverty": they basically just pay lip service to the idea that the characters might not have money and might have money stress in their lives, and there aren't a lot that actually make that a part of the plot so much as they just drop it in your

The only way I think "you're watching it wrong" is applicable is for those of us who have a hard time devoting attention to things that don't grab us. I just physically cannot check into a movie (at home generally, but even in a theater) where I don't feel involvement: even if I have the best intentions I just cannot
