Hmm, that was… I wouldn't say it's a good version, but it made me cringe in an entirely different way than I expected it to, which is somehow almost laudable.

The current favorites in my t-shirt wardrobe are a ZZ Top tour shirt from 1997 (I dig ZZ Top but have not actually seen them live, it was a thrift store find), and a shirt depicting a pixelated Ecto-1 chasing down Pac-man ghosts. I also have this fake leather studded Iron Maiden wristband that I now wear whenever I

I've been to "whole album" shows a few times - The Melvins doing Houdini, They Might Be Giants doing Flood, and The Lemonheads doing It's A Shame About Ray.  The Lemonheads one felt the most like sitting at home and throwing the album on, but it worked out okay because that's such a short album (even more so when you

I take any possible excuse to post anagrams, but David Boreanaz = A Diva Adz Boner. Also, Odd Vein Bazaar.

I just gave this my first listen today, and my reaction's kind of similar to yours. It feels a lot like Octahedron but with a more "electronic" approach, which is sort of an interesting route to take, but there aren't really much in the way of standout tracks just yet.

"Zed And Two Naughts" is probably a reference to the movie A Zed And Two Noughts, so that song title doesn't say "this band is on drugs" so much as "this band enjoys watching post-modern films (possibly while on drugs)".

Well, it depends upon whether or not you consider "Negative Creep" by Nirvana to be a "genuine masterpiece"…

I personally would go with "Tiggers".

Well, New Jersey is pretty offensive…

Your Shins/Skynyrd confusion is something I neither love nor understand.

Sort of like the time I decided that  I was going to introduce my ex to The Residents, and that Not Available would be conducive to making out. It was not.

Friday I watched Best Worst Movie. At a certain point, this movie started being almost entirely about George Hardy - he is sort of an interesting person to watch in action though. I still don't really understand Troll 2's cult, but I'll give it that it's sort of a uniquely bad film - the kind that makes one wonder if

I don't think I ever saw beyond season two when the show was actually on the air. I started watching my way through it some time ago,  and I too started getting the feeling things were going to start going downhill right around season 4, although that might just be because of my absolute blinding hatred of Beer Bad.

For some reason I enjoy the idea of the woman actually patiently sitting there and listening to his entire spiel before calling him a pervert and driving off. As though she thought his directions that started out with driving into pubic hair were going to eventually segue into actual, relevant information. I don't

There's maybe a handful of post-2001 Weezer songs I'll stand up for (I actually like most of the green album for some reason), and that's among them.

Man,  I now want The Melvins to cover this song.

I think i can blame Rock Band for my enjoyment of "Blaze Of Glory". Which is weird because that song is clearly a shameless attempt to repeat the success of "Wanted Dead Or Alive", which I don't like as much. Also, I guess it's technically a Jon Bon Jovi solo song, but it was apparently on at least one Bon Jovi best

I haven't heard their other albums, but Harvey Danger's Where Have All The Merrymakers Gone? was actually a pretty solid record. I think the "Flagpole Sitta" followup single was "Private Helicopter", which didn't really get it's due.

The Galaxy Note ad didn't make me particularly want to buy the product, but
did make me want to dig around the house and see if I still have Permission To
Land somewhere. Turns out I don't. Off to the thrift store I guess.
