Originals:

Deep Politics is one of those albums I literally cannot imagine not liking.

Indeed it is! I'm surprised there aren't more of us on AVC.

That's when I just go with my gut. Also, it helps that I'm the only one who ever looks at the collection. In my mind, it's natural to look for Slobber Pup next to Mr. Bungle because the bands share the same bassist. If I knew other people would be rifling through it to find shit, I'd go with a more standard

My CDs are arranged alphabetically by artist and then by title (librarian alert!), but my records are arranged by how the artists are related to one another. For example, Imperial Teen is next to Faith No More which is next to Tomahawk. Then I arrange them roughly in order of how often I play them. I don't spin Prett

When I was a kid, my parents wouldn't let me grow my hair long until I could take care of it myself, so I had a bowl cut. Meanwhile, I also went by a nickname that could easily skew male. I remember going to a birthday party where all the kids made chocolate lollipops — the girls got to use Cabbage Patch Kid forms,

I've worked in a really busy public library for a number of years now and I almost never (::knocks on wood::) get sick. I've long told people it's because I've picked up every germ possible just like Monty Burns. No one ever gets it, but it's got to the only explanation for the fact that my immune system is running

My music excitement for the week is that my copy of Light In The Attic's Mark Lanegan anthology finally arrived yesterday! I haven't had a chance to listen to the 12 previously-unreleased tracks yet, but I did get to ooh and aah over the gorgeous packaging and to delight over the banana-yellow vinyl.

Man, I was hoping this comment was related to some classic disco album done by Chris Cooper.

Mark Lanegan "Wild Flowers"
Creature With The Atom Brain "Blackened Roses, Same Ol' Doses"
Japancakes "Double Jointed"
Fantomas "04/11/04 - Monday"
Melvins featuring Mark Arm "Set It On Fire"

Good thing his projects are all worth waiting for, right? Sigh.

He also keeps promising and not delivering the second half of the Mondo
Cane material. That shit's already recorded, how hard can it be to
release it?! Gah! Being a superfan of a perfectionist kinda sucks
sometimes.

I second the vote for A Senile Animal. I started with The Bulls and the Bees because it was free; I think it's also a good starting point. It's got a nice mix of the accessible and the weird.

The best part about a non-Melvins fan complaining about this article is that this was probably the most positive interview I've read from Buzz ever.

Anyone else here excited for the King Buzzo acoustic solo tour coming this spring?

Right now, my 2014 is all about new music from Greg Dulli! Is it Twilight Singers? Is it Afghan Whigs re-united? When will inquiring, obsessive minds know?!

Roasted Peeps?! That's genius!

I had decided I don't use my Wii enough to justify getting the Wii U… until I heard about MarioKart 8. I couldn't order a Wii U fast enough.

"Palaces of Montezuma" is one of those songs that I can (and have) (and will again) listen to six times in a row and still want more.

Fantomas "Page 11"
Melvins "Lividity"
Lovage "Anger Management"
Mike Patton "Doc Miles (Crank OST)"
Messer Chups "Make Music, Not Trash"
