Zoo TV was the first concert I attended because I wanted to go (I tagged along to a Phil Collins concert but surely that doesn't have to be on my permanent record, right?).  The whole thing was mind-blowingly awesome, but the one thing that really, really stuck with me was the live version of "With or Without You".

Every month I get all excited when I see it's Horns Up Ya Shitters time and then I go to read it and go, "Oh, right.  I hate the way this guy writes."  It's a constant disappointment to me.  But I guess now that there's no Loud to look forward to, I'll just have to readjust my expectations.  (I end up getting most of

Thank god for easy settings!  I was a big Mario player in my youth (because I am the stereotypical girl gamer) so at least I remember what life was like before auto-save and frequent checkpoints.  ::shudder::

I had the good fortune to start with ACR with zero expectations, so I found it utterly delightful.  Having gone back and to play II and Brotherhood, I can understand why people didn't like it, but it worked for me.  The story and characters were at least interesting.  ACIII's plot just didn't do anything for me, and

I'm an enthusiastic gamer, but a complete and utter spazz with the controls.  I loved BioShock but had to play it on the "Easy" setting.  Everything was going fine until the final boss which was waaaay too easy, even for me.  So when I started "Bioshock Infinite" last week and saw that they described the "Easy"

I think AC3 suffered greatly from very high expectations.  And for not having enough Ezio.  Man, if Connor had just cracked even one joke once, that game would have been a lot better.  Oh well!  Now to start building up high expectations for ACIV…

I was afraid they were going to break up, so new member works for me!

@avclub-b030afbb3a8af8fb0759241c97466ee4:disqus That makes so much more sense that my approach which is to let iTunes put some of his stuff under Bonnie Prince Billy, some under Bonnie 'Prince' Billy, and some under Bonnie "Prince" Billy, so I never ever know where to find it even when I know which of his own monikers

That's a BPB song I'm not familiar with, but when I read the title I thought of The Gutter Twins' "Idle Hands".  Now I'm wondering why I can't just cue up Will Oldham singing The Gutter Twins songbook.  That would be so awesome.

"Sure Shot" is never not welcome in a shuffle!

@avclub-6beb5f589a9fd04c21fcd50db3d9c80c:disqus The Pelican was a very nice touch on behalf of my sentient ipod, because it served to remind me that while I keep thinking "-" is the song I like best, it is indeed "Red Ran Amber".  So while I'm freaked that my ipod is probably reporting back to all it's ipody friends

@avclub-b030afbb3a8af8fb0759241c97466ee4:disqus I'm totally ashamed to admit it but I actually don't know the Nick Cave catalog very well at all.  I am extremely late to the Nick Cave party; based on all the music I liked as a teenager, I can't figure out how I managed to avoid his stuff this long.  Anyway, I went

Book of Knots "Traineater" (Nothing like starting my day with one of the top ten most depressing songs on my ipod.)
Pelican "Red Ran Amer"
Mark Lanegan "Together Again"
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds "O Children" (My ipod has been force feeding me lots of Nick Cave and Grinderman on shuffle lately; does Apple somehow know I

I feel compelled to add that I am the horrid sister who got @avclub-8dd007f4a97be79c135c67999bf5b27e:disqus hooked on "7th Heaven".  The reruns used to air at just the right time on my college's cable system for me to hit it up as my "unwinding from a day of classes" viewing   I was too ashamed to admit it though, so

GOODWIN:  There is one thing on the game show that's true… There was a movie called "Marty".

Quiz Show is one of my top 5 favorite movies of all time.  I refuse to accept every little thing about it isn't perfect.  Heh.

"Did you… did you say Emily Dickinson?"

I listen to Blues Funeral a lot and almost every time I think, "What were all those idiots who panned this album listening to?!  Because it can't have been this."
