You mention 1997's Double Team with Tsui Hark, but Van Damme, whatever his problems as a person, brought not only John Woo and Tsui Hark to Hollywood, but also Ringo Lam, for Maximum Risk and Replicant. I am grateful for the chance to see what they'd do with a Hollywood budget.

John Woo is the greatest action director? No quibbling? You won't consider others, like Akira Kurosawa or Steven (still working today) Spielberg?
Also, how about Ringo Lam directing Jean-Claude Van Damme in Maximum Risk? We're talking about Ringo Lam here.
